Red Mobile Now Supports 2G Phones

Now more people can enjoy the lowest call rate of P0.50/min using any phone.

Red Mobile (formerly known as CURE and uMobile) has announced that it is now including 2G phones to their coverage.

In its initial offering to the public, Red Mobile only supported phones with 3G capability because CURE only has an NTC license for a 3G band thus prohibiting them to operate outside of their frequency.

Since its acquisition by Smart on April 2008, Red Mobile has probably given access to the 2G network infrastructure of Smart to service a larger market especially in those in the countryside.
